The Boy Scouts of America's endowment provides funds necessary for outstanding scouting programs and related youth activities, over and above those funds appropriated by the traditional Friends of Scouting program, allowing the Suwannee River Area Council to maintain its margin of excellence.

The endowment is invested capital that generates funds in perpetuity to support the goals and mission of the Boy Scouts of America. Endowment gifts generate a consistent stream of income for many critical areas in the world of scouting along with other purposes. Today's Scouts and adult leaders benefit from endowment gifts of previous generations, and tomorrow's Boy Scouts of America will benefit from endowment gifts made today.
