. Planning has begun and we will have local information by May 1st. Start saving your money NOW so that when applications become available, you can place most of or all of the registration fee with your application. Space is limited, not everyone who wants to go will be able to attend this historic event. Those who are prepared and are willing to plan in advance, will get this "once in a lifetime" opportunity. If you are a Webelos this (2008-2009) year, you will meet the age requirement in 2010 and be eligible to attend as a Boy Scout. Physical fitness, training, rank, and good standing in your home troop will be important factors for being chosen. This page will keep you informed and help you prepare. Here's what to expect:

WHO? Boy Scouts who are at least 12 years old by July 1, 2010 and will not reach 18 years old prior to August 4, 2010.
HOW? Beginning sometime in June, BSA National will launch a website where each Scout and Scouter that wishes to attend can begin the registration process by entering their BSA membership number and a $10 payment. The receipt from this website can then be taken to Council office where a $100 down payment can be made.
Print these four documents before you proceed, the later two must be signed documents are required when you make your deposit at the Scout Service Center.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST? The cost is currently estimated at $2350 plus uniforms, gears, and other related expenses. An initial deposit will be required with the completed application forms. The remaining balance will be paid in 18 equal installments.
QUALIFICATIONS? All Scouts must be at least First Class, meet certain health and physical fitness standards, and have the recommendation of their Scoutmaster. While the deposit guarantees your priority, several contingent camp-outs and other activities are required before the final selection is made.
CAN MY HOME TROOP GO? Unfortunately, no, the Jamboree is not organized by home troops. You would join with other boys from your local Suwannee River Area Council in forming two "provisional" troops for the council contingent each composed of 36 youth, and 4 adult leaders. You can visit the Jamboree with your family or home troop, but you will not be given the same access to events and activities that participants will be given that paid to attend.
CAN I WEAR A 2010 JAMBOREE PATCH? You may only wear the Jamboree patch if you are a participant or staff. "Visitors" are not permitted to wear any 2010 Jamboree patches unless it is a fundraiser or supporter patch. Click here for more information on obtaining a patch.
