Mission Statement of the BSA
The mission of the Boy
Scouts of America is to serve others by helping to instill value
in young people and prepare them to make ethical choices over
their lifetime in achieving their full potential. These values
are based on the aims of scouting; to develop good character,
build good citizenship and train our youth to be personally fit.
Our purpose is to extend scouting to all families in our service
area with boys ages 6-14 and young men and women ages 14-21 in
Scouting and Exploring. We teach them Leadership, Teamwork, Self-Esteem
and Service to others.
Suwannee River Area Council covers
thirteen counties, we serve nearly 200 units with over 15,000 youth
in our various Scouting programs. Couties
we serve: Florida:Leon, Gadsden, Liberty, Franklin, Wakulla, Jefferson,
Taylor, Madison Georgia:Thomas, Grady, Decatur, Seminole, Colquitt
