Every
two years, Order of the Arrow lodges from across the nation gather
at the campus of a major university and hold the National Order
of the Arrow conference, an OA super-event that brings together
training, fellowship, competitions, tradition, and fun in a big
way.
It
is hardly possible to describe the full extent of NOAC, but here's
the short version. Imagine an event so big, it has its own radio
station. Imagine an event so big that only the facilities of a
major university campus can properly support it. Now imagine that
the size of this event is second ONLY to the National Scout Jamboree
in terms of scout attendance. Now you should have some idea of
just how big NOAC is.
NOAC
attendance in Semialachee Lodge is on the rise. In 2004, Semialachee
Lodge took 26 participants to NOAC, at least a ten-year record.
This year should be no different - especially if YOU plan to attend!
The lodge generally tries to plan an extra side trip
along with the actual NOAC experience to make this trip so far
away even more memorable. For example, in 2000 and 2004, the lodge
visited a Six Flags theme park after the end of the conference.
This year, the lodge plans to take a side-trip to Chicago, Illinois.
More details about the side-trip will be posted as they become
certain. The lodge will travel to NOAC this year on a chartered
bus.
All
interested lodge members should plan to attend NOAC sometime in
their scouting career, and this year is definitely a good year
to do it. Right now, we have many YOUTH (under age 21) slots available
for NOAC. Adult (21 and over) slots may come available in the
near future, but for right now there is a freeze on adult NOAC
registrations until further notice. An update will be posted on
Semialachee.net as soon as adult slots become available.
Cost:
for youth (under
21)
for adults (21
and over)
These fees cover
the full cost of transportation to and from the conference, as
well as for the side trip, all expenses in Chicago aside from

breakdown of what this fee covers will be announced as the Chicago
trip is finalized. This fee is not due all at one time. It can
be paid in monthly increments. The initial deposit to secure a
spot in the contingent is $100; it's due by .
Fill out a registration form and
