Osceola Lodge and Southwest Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America would like to welcome all of our Arrowmen brothers to Camp Flying Eagle and the 2008 S-4S Section Conference.

This year's conference will be held on April 11, 12 & 13 in Bradenton, Florida, along the banks of the Manatee River at one of our nation's oldest Scout camps, Camp Flying Eagle. CFE was founded in 1929 and consists of almost 200 acres of beautiful, tree-filled Florida camp grounds. It is conveniently located near the major intersection of Interstate 75 and Florida State Road 64. Osceola Lodge has sent produced a Pre Conference Newsletter with lots of information about the conference.

We will meet at the Council Service Center at 9:00 AM on April 11, 2008 and depart by 9:30 AM. We will travel in scout activity uniform (Scout pants and a scouting related t-shirt) and you will need to have a sack lunch. We will make plenty of stops on the way and the group will also stop for dinner either before we get to camp or after we set up. There will also be a grill operating in camp where dinner may be purchased. We anticipate that we will return to the Council Service Center by 6:00 PM on the 13th.

Attention Golfers! Prior to the Conference on Friday April 11th, the Section will hold it's 2nd Annual Maury Clancy Indian Campership Golf Tournament. This year’s event will be held at The Links at Greenfield Plantation, Bradenton, FL, just 4 miles from the CFE entrance. Registration begins at the golf course at 11:30 AM, lunch is provided, and tee-off is at 1 PM. Directly after the round, dinner is provided for golfers at the clubhouse. When deciding what to pack, consider this event similar to a regular fellowship. For information about what to bring, consult the Lodge Functions section under Info for Members.
